Man is the most elevated existing
creature on earth without any rival or competitor on earth.
Allah, the Almighty, has descended him to earth from Paradise
according to what His will ordained and didn't leave him alone
bewildered, misguided and at a loss as what to do and how to
behave but rather taught him, honored him and appointed him as
His caliph on earth.
So, since man's life on earth,
according to Allah's knowledge, will continue to be, for long
terms, Allah has prepared for him what makes him live easily as a
mercy from His Almighty to His weak descendant who neither has
might nor power (Allah intends for you ease and He doesn't want
to make things difficult for you."
(Al-Baqarah:185)
To achieve this end, Allah has
arranged for him all the necessary and luxurious living
requirements and made his dwelling in the form of societies and
these societies of course need a number of values, conventions
and social criteria to facilitate man's life in it. These
attributes all in all are called: human values.
In the view of man's urgent
necessity to keep these values and for the sake of continuation
of his life, Allah has sent prophets and messengers bearing for
him religions and heavenly messages and that these religions are
composed of divine programs to organize this earthly life bearing
between its divine teachings for making the life of man on earth,
well-disciplined and easy going.
Since the source of these
religions is Allah, the Almighty, and that Allah is the
subtleness of good, mercy and love; therefore, they totally bear
in their folds everything which denotes good, right and useful
for man's life; therefore, it is inevitable for man to depict out
of those attributes what facilitates for him his life.
Humanity involves a group of
values and criteria embodied in all that is beautiful, pretty and
fit for appreciation, like love, tolerance, kindness, peach,
charity, good manners, fidelity, telling the truth and applying
it on the ground od reality, becoming sympathetic with man and
animal together, getting away from all that is ugly and unfit to
public appreciation like oppression, hostility, jealousy, grudge,
evil, and bad temper.
We can understand from all this
that every virtue held by man and practiced in his life is called
'humanity' and because man is the caliph ordained by Allah on
earth, so, it is inevitable on him as Caliph to reflect some
beautiful and kind of Allah's attributes which they are in origin
'heavenly attributes' but with human applications.
Islam and humanity
Those who are concerned with the
study of Islam as regards Allah's Book and the legal rights and
duties of the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) it becomes clear that he placed
a great care to the human aspect in life and specified a vast
area of his teachings and legislations just like other divine
religions.
If the researcher contemplates on
the range of worshipping from those legislations, he will find
that it doesn't exceed the third but rather a little less than
that. As for the other two thirds, they are indeed
specified for what is related to man's life and his personal
status and his dealings even the worshipping acts themselves bear
in their folds also human aspects such as: the maintenance of
Zakat and Al-Khms for instance, such amounts of money are taken
from the wealth of the rich to be handed over to the poor;
therefore, it is regarded as human worshipping practice as well
as prayer for it serves as assistance to man in his struggle
against the handicaps of life:
"O You who believe! Take help from
patience and prayer as well as fasting" for it is a school for
developing man's will in confronting the hardships of
life.
