Moslems, on the whole, depend on
the problem of the inevitability of the Prayer, on every
individual to a number of the Quranic verses which talk about a
divine order to establish Among them are the following And
perform As-Salat (Iqamat Al-Salat) and give Zakat and whatever of
good (deeds that Allah loves) you send forth for yourself before
you, you shall find it with Allah. Certainly, Allah is All Seer
of what you do. (Al-Baqarah 110).
O you who believe! When you intend
to offer As-Salat (the prayer) wash your faces and your hands
(forearms) up to the elbows, rub (by passing wet hands over) your
heads, and (wash) your feet up to the ankles.
If you are in a state of Janaba
(i.e. after a sexual discharge) purify yourselves (bathe your
whole body). But if you are ill or on a journey or any of you
comes from the Gha'it (toilet) or you have been in contact with
women (i.e. sexual intercourse), and you find no water, then
perform Tayamum with clean earth and rub therewith your faces and
hands.
Allah does not want to place you
in difficulty but He wants to purify you, and complete His Favor
to you that you may be thankful.(Al-Ma'ida 6).
And to perform As-Salat (Iqamat
As-Salat) and to be obedient to Allah and fear Him and it is He
to Whom you shall be gathered. ( Al-An'am 72).
Say O Muhammad My Lord has
commanded justice and (said) that you should face him only (i.e.
worship none but Allah and face the Qibla i.e. the Ka'ba at
Makkah during prayers) in every place of worship, in prayers (and
not to face other false deities and idols) and invoke him only
making your religion sincere to Him (by not joining in worship
any partner with Him and with the intention that you are doing
your deeds for Allah's sake only).
As He brought you (into being) in
the beginning, so shall you be brought into being (on the Day of
Resurrection in two groups, one as a blessed one (believers) and
the other wretched one disbelievers). (Al-Araf 29).
And perform As-Salat (the Prayer)
at the two ends of the day and in some hours in the night (the
five compulsory Salat (prayers). Verily, the good deeds remove
the evil deeds (i.e. small sins). That is a reminder (an advice)
for the mindful, those who accept advice. (Hud 114).
